Twitter may increase the likelihood of divorce, doctoral student finds

A study conducted by a doctoral student at the University of Missouri School of Journalism found that using Twitter may increase the likelihood of divorce.

Russell Clayton conducted a survey among 581 Twitter users and found that people who regularly browse the Twitter news feed, tweet, respond to tweets, and send messages to other Twitter users are more likely to be involved in confrontations with their relationship partners. Clayton added that these conflicts heighten the risk of negative relationship events, including divorce.
